Jaffa Cake Navel
Hello Hello Hello,
It's been a while since i've updated the old blog and put out some info on what the boys have been up to.
First things first myself Dave & Iain have just this day finished the job we were doing in Portsea that is starting building a $2 million house, all stumps put in everything levelled off now the framers come in to put up the frame......what else do framers do apart from put up frames, i don't know but i'd like to.
My other 2 friends are up the coast in an altogether sunnier situation and have just purchased surfboards but sadly they have to wait for me to show them how to use them!!
For the past 3-4 weeks since "leaving" melbourne we've been working away renovating houses and doing general labouring all around victoria, Ballarat, Stawell & Portsea (just had a wee phone conversation with my good friend neil there up in bondi he says he needs me to meet up with him so he can take the stabalisers off his training surfboard ha ha get it up ya monty!! cheers for the call be seeing you soon) mainly though, working for a family run firm.
We stayed in a place called Great Western for a week with our boss and the scenery was amazing they live about 30k from the Grampian mountains and the view they have is pretty awesome there are photos which i'll try to upload when i get the chance and dave finally managed to see a wild kangaroo go d bless him he'd been waiting for about 2 months!! the boss' wife took us on a tour of the winery that she works in and insisted that we try every wine they make and who were we to stop her, they make quite a few by the way, think the winery was called seppelt anyway she gave us a bottle for our troubles, we also had a wee karaoke night aswell took a bit of dutch courage but by the end me dave and iain were up there belting the hits out.
Things to note about australia:
1 - Power naps are encouraged by the government, here was me thinking it was just something to do before a big night out!
2 - Trucks drive fast, really fast and they're big, really big
3 - Drive thru Bottle Shops, like a drive throu macdonalds but instead of getting a big mac and chips you get a bottle of vod and a slab of beer, excellent!
Anyway at the moment we are staying at our other boss rod's house with his wife and 2 young kids, getting our work at portsea finished off and let me tell you wildlife watch has gone from strength to strength, so to add to the spiders that we had seen in maryborough, those who weren't paying attention that was a redback and small hunstman, we have now seen big huntsman in ballarat along with a heap of droptail lizards and other non venomous (girl) spiders but the best of the bunch has been in portsea in one single day we had not one but 2 scorpians, big spiders that are still to be identified, iain reckons they might be funnelwebs, and to top it off a snake that we picked up, or i should say dave picked up, he's not scared of poison that boy, it was only a little babay one but it might have been deadly so look out for an update and pictures will definetely follow, i think that the only thing that can top that off now is if we saw a T-rex or somekind of extinct animal.
plans for the next wee while are to go to Car City tommorow and hopefully pick up a wagon that'll take us out of victoria and somewhere hotter, just reralised that we've been here 3 months and at times its as cold as sneck, didnt come to oz to get cold need hot hot weather. We've got 2 weeks of work left then we're off to see the great ocean road and then head up to sydney meet up with neily boy hang about for a while then continue north following the sun.
Well this has taken far too long and i'm missing pirates of the carribean which is not acceptable.
love
col boy
ps photos will be up soon

Really heating up in Snecky, and the wildlife consists of a hedgehog - deceased in the garden. Pity you didn't send a case of the wine home to the poor folks back home....
